Expanding into your expression
Once you’ve gone through the previous practice to gain awareness on the spaces in life that you’ve been stifling your expression, now is the time to begin to lean in and expand beyond!
With the themes you noticed, ask yourself what it would be like to alchemize them…
Examples:
- Not speaking a truth for fear of being judged >> leaning into speaking what is true (of course, from a place of discernment and grace)
- Being the midst of enjoying singing or expressing, but then stopping when someone walks into the room >> allowing yourself be witnessed in your full expression
- Not expressing vocally during pleasure and/or feigning your expression >> giving yourself permission to authentically express your ecstasy
- Shying away from being seen/heard at an event >> allowing yourself to take up space and be witnessed
- Not speaking up about something that’s bothering you in a relationship or creating boundaries >> sharing your truths with those in your life (of course, from a place of intentionality and discernment vs. just emotionally vomiting)
TIP: Share with those in your life that you’re exploring these new forms of expression! Sometimes, as you begin to lean into into expressing yourself more fully, there can be a period where it’s a bit “less than graceful” (boundaries may come across harsh, the sharing of truths may feel a bit clunky, allowing yourself to be witnessed might feel a bit awkward, etc.) When you allow those in your life in on this journey you’re on, it can imbue some extra leeway and grace into your dynamics.
